Artemis Fowl: The Graphic Novel by Eoin Colfer

I missed the Artemis Fowl craze when I was a kid and wanted to prep for the movie release this year. It's definitely a new take on the fantasy genre. What if Bruce Wayne, instead of fighting crime, pulled off heists against fairies and was kind of a jerk? I didn't fall in love with the characters or the story, but I'm not the target audience anymore, am I?

I loved this book. Yes, the artwork took some getting used to and it obviously didn't match the picture in my head I had of the characters, but I still really, really, enjoyed it. It was a fun quick read that was true to the original content. The colors were vibrant and easy to see and read. 5 out of 5 stars. I can't wait to read more.

2.5 stars. It was okay but I liked the text version much better.

Decent graphic version of the novel. Ten thousand times better than the unwatchable movie Disney made.

Debated between 2 and 3 stars. Good for a children’s book, a unique twist on magical creatures and such in a modern setting, but would sooner recommend a lot of other series. Curious enough that I could see one wanting to keep reading. I think I prefer the classic chapter book edition rather than graphic novel - this art style is not my personal favorite.
