I was able to get 9 of the current 11 books in the series from various stuff your kindle days. I didn't hate the book but I wish the ending had a little more to it it kinda was like tada the end. I know there is more to the series and characters so i am going to try more of the series since it is also written by multiple authors. I liked the world and main story and magic enough to want to continue the series.

I did receive this book as an eARC from the author.

Bound by Treason follows Queen Moira and her guard/childhood friend Tallis as they try to uncover who is responsible for the deaths of Moira’s three daughters. The twists and turns of the murder investigation and the politics involved kept me invested in the plot and not just in the romance.

I loved Moira and Tallis together. The gentle banter, the way they know each other so well, and the way the respect each other had me rooting for them from the beginning.

While I enjoyed the ending that Moira and Tallis get (aka their HEA), I was left wanting more details about what happened with the other plot trails
(the murders, Moira’s son, the kingdom in general)
. I felt like there was a lot that was left hanging or unaddressed since this is a shorter book.

This was a great short story! This was my first introduction to this universe and I really enjoyed it. The fast paced story made it easy to just sit down and read the whole thing in one sitting.
