Oh my goodness! With all the twists and turns and amazing come out of nowhere plot twists, my socks have been knocked off (if I was wearing any that is).
The twist of Tarik dying at the end, then seeing Gar with the wolverine and figuring out Shane really was bad. Then Abeke comimg back and bringing Shane with her, and then he lets his Great Beast out. When he stole the talismans I completely forgot that Rollan had put two of them in Tarik's sarcophagus so I figured everything was lost but now they are on their way to Kovo's prison! Book 7 will be so good!

I love this series! This book was no exception but it was sad. At one point I caught myself with my hands in the air saying "Go naked mole rat!" Since I was listening to this at my desk at work at the time, I got a couple of strange looks from coworkers.

Finally finished.
Took me long enough.
Not that it wasn't good, I just didn't have the time. (shame on me)
!!!Spoiler alert!!!
So I saw Shane's betrayal coming from a mile away. Still felt horrible for both Meilin and Abeke though.
This was a fast paced book.
I knew that our heroes wouldn't get away unscathed, they have basically been unharmed throughout the whole series, but Lumeo's death hit me hard, same goes for Meilin staying behind, the girl has brains and skills, they need her. I'm glad that Rollan is street smart and knows how to keep things hidden, it has probably saved all of Erdas. I know there are still 9 books in the main serie, (12 more books total) so we are not there yet and there are still a lot off things unfinished. But sometimes it feels very predictable, probably because its written for a younger audience, but still, the books are fun to read.

This one was written by Tui T. Sutherland, one of my favourite authors for kids and teens. So of course I loved it - this has been the only series where I genuinely loved each and every book and I couldn't wait to read the next one. So in this one the kids and greencloacks receive a vision from one of the great beasts who wants to help him and urges the four kids to go to him so he can give them the talisman - they had to travel through ocean and we get to see more affected animals - namely sharks and orcas being especially ferocious after being fed the bile by the conquerors. After they get the talisman they are also shocked that no matter where they go The conquerors seem to know precisely where they are and what they are doing so there must be a mole among them - Mailin is especially suspicious of everyone but mostly Abeke because Abeke is still friendly towards Shane - only for her word to crash down because she learns that she was given bile instead of nectar and that both Jhi and her father knew, so when she was sleepwalking The conquerors could control her and see and hear everything that was happening - I felt so bad for Mailin but I also love her bond with Jhi because in this book we learn that Jhi knows but still loves her and obeys her because she loves her and not because the bond is forced. I loved this entire book, it's action packed from first page to the last and it really keeps you on your toes- there is barely any parts of the book happening where they are just standing around and talking like so many of these books tend to do - it's action packed from them escaping the sharks, getting the talisman and being separated by the end because Mailin gets controlled and attacks Abeke forcing her to give herself up to The conqorers. I loved this book so much and I know that I keep saying this - but this one was one of my favourites from this series and one of my favourite books I've read in general.

too much sadness in this one. And, this series needed to end after book 4 or 5. It was so drawn out we just about lost interest.
An enjoyable episode to the 7 book series. I liked this one a bit more than some, but not as much as the Brandon Mull one. This one has the team split up into two major groups, and I like that Rollan plays a larger part of the story. I'm really liking his character and how he develops. Meillan is slowly learning, but oh so slowly--sometimes she drives me crazy. Overall, it has me headed straight into the final book.
