Euripides' plays are amazing, no doubt about that. However, Roche's translation is so gruesome, it reads like the script of a soap opera.

Every book I have to read for school will only ever get 3⭐️ just for the fact that I have to do it for school

I’ve been listening to “Stay Soft” by Mitski on repeat and it feels quite fitting for Hecuba. Like Polyxena even says she is less concerned about dying than how it will affect her mother…
but Euripides did the ‘vengeful, murderous woman’ better in Medea ngl, the narrative feels too focused on Agamemnon in the second half

A must read collection of classic Greek drama by one of its most famous playwrights. This collection contains all of the most well known of Euripides' plays including: "The Bacchae", "The Trojan Women", "Hippolytus", and seven more. A wonderful look at ancient Greek drama.
