Very real but also rather tragic...star crossed lovers or just a selfish person who didn't realize what he had until he grew up and it was too late? Or was it?

It says this book is a real "tearjerker" and I made it all the way to the end thinking that I was not going to cry, but then... I cried.

This story is about Gabe and Lucy, two people who find each other on 9/11 amid the travesty and horror all around them and fall in love but life leads them down different paths and they break up. Whether it is fate or destiny, they somehow always find each other.

Twin flames, true love, soulmates, whatever you believe in-- this was them.

A little slow at times, but left me wanting to know the outcome. Let out a long exhale at the end.

I liked it and I didn't.
It is definitely made for upper class to relate to. I found a lot of the issues the main character complained about eye rolling. Just to give you an idea she & her husband own a very nice house in New York but he surprises her by buying their vacation home, that she loves, and she gets upset that it wasn't a decision they made together, like no girl, no I'd be over the moon.

The story was ok, kind of long with no real point.

Some parts of it annoyed me some parts I related to
Annoyed:
•Both were supposably so deeply in love with each other but yet refused to budge or compromise.
• The main character Lucy tries to have a feminist touch but is really just obsessing over this man (Gabe) that choose himself over her the entire time
• Lucy & Gabe are both very selfish
• Rich people problems

However, I can sympathize with having that one man you always wondered what if, which is basically what the whole book is about. But both main characters had plenty of years to change their minds and choose each other before things got complicated with kids and they still were never willing to compromise for each other. They just decided to drag it out.

If it were not for relating to the "what if" part I probably would have give this book a lower rating.

Ugh. I’m so torn with this book. I have a love-hate relationship with it. I loved it SOOO much at times, and then at other times I found myself frustrated with the narrator. And then that ending! Why?!
