A solid start to a new series. It started off a wee bit slow but picked up the pace nicely and ended on a maybe-possibly-potential HFN that felt right for the story and the characters. I’m excited to see what kind of adventure where the next book takes us on.

This is my second book reading/listening by KJ Charles (first one was Any Old Diamonds) and I had such a good time. The plot is fast and unexpected. The smutty scenes are steamy and I loved both main characters. Will is such a good badass and Kim is so interesting, I look forward to getting to know him better in the next books. And Phoebe was the best side character to me. Great narration!

This is my third K. J. Charles book and so far they've all been hits. Already bought the other two books in the series, although who knows when I'll actually get to them.

Phoebe and Maisie are so good.
