Now I am starting at the beginning! This was such a good read. I can’t totally see where their children get it from!

Levi was definitely interesting, love that both king cousin’s girlfriends had something to do with eachothers parents death

The short chapters kept me turning the pages non stop! I read this book in one sitting

It’s ironic when the description of the book states a dark adult romance but the romance is between high school students. So many red flags with Levi that Astrid just ignores.  I dislike how her relationship with her father changed that was nice.  They just needed to talk things through.  And of course since there was soccer involved that made it fun.

I think I would have thought this book was the best book on eaarth if I read it when I was 16. I thought men scaring you was cool. Now I just cannot stand the abusive things. I want my characters to be romanced and be green lags. I don't know why I thoought I'd get that considering how dark the cover is.
I knew I would not like the book after reading about her accident and she has no plan for her vengance. She is just fuelled by her accident which is kay but if she knows the kind of school she is in should have been aware that doing that would not have gone unnoticed and secondly the fire happening should have alerted that maybe she should keep her investigating quiet. Her art...I wish we knew more about it. Did she like painting or drawing or both. I wish her relationship with her father was developed more.

I found the man very disturbing and I guess that is the point but leaving a drugged woman alone is never going make me like him. He also had abusive tendencies and while he did not direct them to her a lot, it left a bad taste in my mouth. He became less toxic towards the end but at the end off the day, I still did not like them as a couple. Which reminds me, the reason for them not being together was completely unnecessary. We also did not see this man mourn his father. Only she mourned her mom which is signiicant because they died on the same day.

Anyway, I wanted to dip my toes into Rina Kent's world and while I am glad I went or spin, I will not be going for the rest of the ride.
That's right...... I am judging the whole series and world based on her writng in this book and from what I have read, her writing has not improved much.

This was my first Rina Kent, and I absolutely loved it. The way everything is set up makes it feel so real, and so intense. I loved Astrid and Levi, and the dynamic between the two of them, it was bound to be explosive when they finally got together. I'm definitely looking forward to more of this world!

I would have loved for this to be longer…the dynamic of Astrid and Levi came through so well and I want more of it.
I feel like something was missing though, I don’t know what, but I’m blaming the shorter length of the book. I think it also made the pacing feel a little too fast.
But still, at the end of the day, Rina Kent writes a great book.
