Meh. This one had two too many plot twists. They just tried to do way too much with it! I enjoyed learning a tiny bit about Sri Lanka though!

Unexpectedly, one of my favorite parts of this was the glimpses into Sri Lanka. A few aspects were annoying/extraneous, but this kept my attention, and I was surprised by a few twists.

Felt a little too long. But was entertaining enough. A lot of twists and turns.

This was wild. All of the characters are wild and the end caught me completely off guard.

I was between a 4 and 5 star review for this book, but I think it deserves the 5 for the expert way the author tricked me into believing one thing and then completely threw me for a loop with twists and turns I never saw coming for a million years.

When I first started the book (which I chose in my Book Of The Month subscription box for July), I genuinely felt uncomfortable by one character in particular and the thoughts she was (or seemed to be) having. It was dark and twisted in a way I don’t normally like, but I decided to power through and keep reading, because something was intriguing me, though I couldn’t put my finger on it.

Thank goodness I did! I’ve never read anything by this author before, but this book was a big win for me. As someone who has gotten really into thrillers this year, I say this one is a must-read!

Pretty good overall, I really liked the setting and the whole vibe of the book.

The real star of the show was the post-incident interviews at the end of chapters. It was a really interesting and engaging way to see different character's mindsets and motivations.

Sadly, toward the middle of the book I felt like I was skimming chapters just so I could get to the interviews. And I only felt the story picked up again in the Kaavi pov chapters.

Overall a sound thriller and a nice change of pace in my reading habits.

Ugh I wish I could say I loved this & this was a fantastic , but I didn’t . This was a chore to get through, I almost DNF’d it a few times. It was slowww,, confusing, bland and boring (for me).
Wished I loved it, I’m just glad I am done.
