i don’t care where this goes, i can’t deal with the sexual dynamic the mc is into
I’m not sure if it was ever specified if anyone was left handed or not but 🤷♀️ This was a good time! You follow Amaya, a young woman who receives an invitation to her ex best friend’s wedding back home in Sri Lanka. The catch? Her ex best friend is marrying Amaya’s ex boyfriend. Amaya spirals and goes to try and stop the wedding. While everything is happening, the bride goes missing. Her room is ripped to shreds and everyone thinks Amaya killed her. There were some decent twists in here, but the end one will get you for sure. I definitely recommend this one!

Things I loved: the setting, the different points of view, the writing style, the mystery, the surprises.
Things I didn’t heart: The pacing, the diverse characters, the betrayals, the trigger elements.
Overall, the first half of the book was slow, and I didn’t understand the reason for Amaya, the main character, to drag on through her visit to her friend Kaavi’s wedding in Sri Lanka. The second half of the book moves faster, but I found the resolution to be somewhat odd. I wanted to love this one, but was disappointed.

Thoroughly enjoyed this mystery/thriller!
Amanda Jayatissa's book starts out with a simple enough plot - Our protagonist, Amaya's ex best friend is marring her ex boyfriend and Amaya is set on making sure that doesn't happen. At any cost.
Most of the book is set in Sri Lanka, where the wedding is to take place - cue the opulence, gossiping Aunties and all the skeletons in everyone's closet.
Highly recommend.
