I was on the struggle bus to finish this book. It was almost a DNF for me. But I pushed through. For a thriller it was more of a who done it. The last 50 pages or so was the only worth while part of for me. While it wasn’t a thrilling ending, it was interesting. I’m glad I finished it even though I didn’t love it.

I loved the initial calm yet slightly eerie vibe of the story. The complicated relationships and spread of gossip propelled the narrative wonderfully. I totally thought I knew where the book was going, but all of the twists at the end truly threw me for a loop. I love it when a thriller ends up being totally unpredictable.
I think I compared this to Lucy Foley's The Guest List. While the plot twist at the end was entirely shocking I felt confused at times throughout the book. I loved the dark thoughts of the narrator, it immediately drew me in, making me believe she was the one to kill Kaavi. PLOT TWIST.
Very familiar story, with a Pakistani twist in an attempt to make this feel fresh. I will read more tho because I’m curious to see this author flex further.

A woman gets invited to a wedding between her ex-boyfriend and her ex-best friend. The best friend goes missing and dun dun dunnnnnn what happened?
This book had some twists and turns I didn’t predict and I enjoyed it while reading. Lost points for me with the pacing. It felt a bit too slow when we switched POVs and went through scenes we had already experienced and the insanely quick wrap up in the last 20 pages felt in misalignment with the rest of the book.

Secrets, lies, manipulation, & twists. Solid thriller ride. I guessed a couple of twists halfway through the book but it still had a solid execution.
i was waiting for the suspense and action but only found some near the end. very slow and in my opinion very predictable. i enjoyed the setting of sri lanka and the general storyline was fine, but i never grew connected to any of the characters. i also feel like the ending was a cop out. just overall felt awkward and there seems like there were plot holes.
