As someone who grew up with Taylor’s albums but wasn’t necessarily a diehard Swifty, I really enjoyed reading the behind the scenes of her career beyond just the albums we love and hear.

Honestly great for both Swifties and people interested in personal brand identity. Recommend just as highly as a book for business people.

This book is billed as being the business side of Taylor Swift's success. In practice it seemed to me to be an overview of publicly available information without much more depth or a different perspective than other books I've read about her. I found the writing to be competent, and the occasional references to "Taylor the startup" were interesting, but it didn't go far enough in that direction to make it differentiated from anything else I have read about her. I recommend this to someone who hasn't read a bunch of books on Swift, and I enjoyed the writing more than many similar publications, but don't think it fulfilled the promise of being a business-oriented book.
Thank you to Harvard Business Review Press for giving me an advance reading copy for unbiased review.

As someone who genuinely loves Taylor Swift’s music (yes, I’m a proud 40-year-old Swiftie—no shame in this game), I knew I’d enjoy it. What I didn’t expect was to walk away with so many insights that hit just as hard as “All Too Well (10 Minute Version).”
This book isn’t just a recap of Taylor’s journey—it’s a front-row seat to the strategic decisions that built one of the most powerful personal brands in modern history. Evers walks through every twist and turn of her career, from the early days of playing guitar in a Nashville café to the era-defining Eras Tour, and breaks down the business brilliance behind each move.
What I loved most is how it highlights the intentionality behind her evolution. Taylor didn’t just chase trends or ride the waves of fame—she made bold, sometimes risky, always thoughtful choices that redefined what it means to be an artist and a brand. Whether it was the decision to leave Big Machine, the mastermind-level move to re-record her masters, or the way she continuously re-engages her fans—every step was a masterclass in marketing, storytelling, and resilience.
Even if you’re someone who rolls your eyes at the hype, I’d challenge you to read this book and not walk away impressed. It’s packed with lessons in authenticity, leadership, brand loyalty, and long-term thinking. And for those of us who’ve been singing along since “Tim McGraw,” it feels like the ultimate validation: yes, she’s as brilliant behind the scenes as she is behind the mic.
So if you’re into brand strategy, entrepreneurship, pop culture, or just want to understand what makes a billion-dollar brand tick—give this one a read. Taylor Swift is the real deal. And Kevin Evers? He gets it.

“What if I told you none of it was accidental?”
As a Swiftie, this was a deeply fascinating book to read. Focusing on her business savvy and intuition on how to best connect with her fans, There’s Nothing Like This explores sides of Taylor Swift that often get swept under the rug or plain left out of the conversation surrounding her. All of her big decisions are explored here from the decision to sign with Big Machine Records at the beginning of her career to the Eras Tour and everything in between, triumphs and failures. I was a little worried that the business aspect of this book would be hard for me to understand, but it’s written in such an accessible way and I followed along very easily. I loved how it celebrated her as an innovator, storyteller and strategist while also truthfully exploring the missteps and miscalculations of her career. This is a book any Swiftie should read, but also a book anyone who doesn’t fully understand the marvel that is Taylor Swift and why her listeners keep coming back for more.
