Probably the quintessential dystopic novel. 1984 has standed the tests of times and the hyper-vigillant, story manipulative governments are perennial. An eye-opener for everyone that reads it.

This is not a book you love. This is a book that haunts you, and makes you feel viscerally unlike any other book around. And the fact that it was written in 1949 is CHILLING. Beyond ahead of its time, and any time really. This is the kind of way I aim to be moved by a book.

My god, when I tell you the only two feelings i felt while reading this book were utter boredom or unending interest - I am telling the truth. This book is great, if you think unending politics and almost no dialogue is God's blessing on earth. Which, I am close to believing after Animal Farm and 1984. How do you make politics so interesting? How do you make them horrifying, even before the literal physical torture?
Well, the only thing I can say is that I personally would not have survived a world like this. I would most probably live as a prole, or be erased before my 20th birthday.
