This book has been updated since it's original publication and lightly covers the changing technology landscape, but still skews heavily toward a paper-based system. There are good principles in here, but ultimately it will require a lot of trial and error on an individual basis to figure out how to make the system work.
Also heavily skewed towards a business environment, despite attempts to incorporate other kinds of work (and the author's claim in the forward that this works across all cultures and situations).

I confess, I'd read tons on the internet about GTD without ever picking up the book, and much of it is overwhelming and confusing. Thi book is not. It is linear, straight to the point, and down to earth.
borrowed from library. read a few chapters but wasn't really interested enough in the process to finish the book. main point taken from is is to write down all tasks. keep in one place and refer to it often to stay on top of tasks and not have to keep them in your head.
Trying it now- hopefully it will be a good thing with my new business!
Read up to pg 180 of 259, which is all I'm going to read. Not bad, but does not need to be so long.
p.68 "Suffice it to say that something automatic and extraordinary happens in your mind when you create and focus on a clear picture of what you want."

Pretty much changed the way I work and do things personally and professionally. A system that is open enough for it to be individual but useful enough to become a daily practise.
informative
fast-paced
It is classic in productivity reads, but most of the things are outdated. However, if we adjust to today’s needs we can create a system that would be extremely useful. Great book to start with your productivity!
Recco from my Dad. Took me a few months to work thru this also but I have been testing out his different suggestions to apply GTD to my life. Really well written and useful
