I read this while getting a bit more organized over the summer when it came to my own workflow at home; I'd always been fairly diligent with things at work, but as I got busier, things started to get tricky when it came to keeping up with home and work tasks. It was a good refresher; I was familiar with the material, but hadn't read it completely. I find that it's still a relevant framework. The book is well organized and wasn't difficult to get through.

You can tell this was written in 2002 because of the total lack of technology in organizing.

I really enjoyed the idea of the 2 minute rule. If you can get it done in 2 minutes just do it otherwise you need to prioritize it. I’ll start using the 2 minute rule.

The new edition of this book is much better. He actually incorporates some technology within the book but still seems to blather on about certain filing methods that could have been summed up in one chapter. I think the takeway this 2nd time through is to take time each week to re-assess where I am with all my projects. I do that in a less formalized way and I really need to formalize that.

I’ve only read this at first because my job kind of required us to read some self-help books. So truthfully, I did not have much expectations because I thought it would only contain a plethora of platitudes. But surprisingly enough, it wasn’t. It’s actually really helpful that I ended up setting a page in Notion that would help me sort out my life. So yeah this book is not full of bullshit.

This book hasn’t changed my life, but...

Has definitely changed the way I work and organise my life in a fundamental way.

The GTD methodology makes so much sense and the book brings this to life. It is also a practical guide on how to implement GTD in your life.

The 5 stars is a reflection of how much I have taken from the book and added into the way I operate each day.

I wish I had read this book when I just started out working. Very solid read that I recommend to anyone else who just started working or needs to optimize their daily working process.
