one of my favorite school-assigned books as a kid <3 lois lowry's writing is so captivating

Liam and I read this together. It was absolutely stunning and inspirational. Liam liked it as much as I did, therefore, it is truly magical. ;)

I would’ve thought that I’d read this as a kid, but there’s no way because surely I would’ve remembered it. This book was fantastic. Worthy of every praise it’s ever gotten. Devastating and hopeful. I loved it and look forward to sharing it with Iain when he’s old enough.

One of my favorites as an elementary student, and I know it's still a good book when one of my students who doesn't really like to read anything but DogMan is gasping in surprise during parts and getting upset at the afterword.
