3.5 stars. A little hard to follow at times, but interesting concept. My only exposure to this story was via the cliches of it and mainly, the looney tunes cartoon version. This story was thought-provoking. What happens when you separate the body from the soul? Or the mind from the soul?

Decided to reread this years after I had to study it at school. It’s an effective, classically gothic, intriguing and sometimes even tense story, but I didn’t feel as sucked in as I did with Dorian Gray’s use of language. The other two short stories are quite boring, particularly Olalla. I’d rate them lower, but for the main classic, 3.5 stars sounds fair.
Really interesting/intriguing classic, well written using exquisite words throughout. Shorter than I had hoped but it’s a classic
