This was a slow burn nothing burger for me. After 2-3 hours I got a tad more invested and decided to stay until the end. I regret it, lol

listened to the audiobook and now my dream in life is to hear Meryl Streep read aloud every single book that I ever read

Oh, this was a book club pick, and I'm not sure I would have completed it if it wasn't. Meryl Streep was a delightful audiobook narrator, but the story draggggggged on. And then it just ended, and it was fine, but not anything life changing. I think just not a good book match for me.

The story within a story is the only thing that gives this novel depth, and it’s not deep enough. Boring at times; redeemed only by Meryl Streep’s dramatization on audiobook.
