The amount of “she giggled” there was in this was annoying, and hearing a supposedly grown ass man say “that was hot” after sex is icky. And so many of these scenes lead to nothing.

Alaska was once a foster kid who had nothing, now she works two jobs so she never feels like that again. Her first job as a phone sex worker is where she first encounters Zuko, only he knows her as “sage”. When he walks into her second job, where she is a waitress she couldn’t believe her horrible luck as she recognizes that voice right away.
Zuko is a hunter and kills people for a living but mostly because he enjoys it. When he sets his sights on Alaska determined to have her, she can’t shake him and parts of her don’t want to.

I really liked the duel POV, dark romance, enemies to lovers, touch her and die, very spicy. Zuko is a very strong MMC but Alaska, she is completely badass and one of the strongest MFCs I have read. I really liked this one. Waiting for the second in the series.

It was a really good book, I liked the beginning alot and had some high expectations based on the promo it was given on Booktok and Bookstagram. The ending felt really rushed though. I feel like we got alot of depth on Alaska as a character but not Zuko, sure we got some of his back story but it wasn't enough to feel drawn to him in my opinion. It was still a pretty good book and was definitely well written, I just could use another couple hundred pages towards the end to round it out better. Excited for the twins books!
