Unfortunately this one is not for me. I understand the true accounts of the people involved but it being short stories, you don’t get drawn into a cohesive story. Just broken fragments of memories. I did like some parts and I really like Steinbeck’s writing style. I will read more for this author in the future.

Really good! Very potent in an understated sort of way. Made me laugh, made me sob uncontrollably. Definitely much better than Hemingway's 'A Farewell to Arms' !
