I am hoping Nicknmakes his wat into the Cotton Malone series, or gets his own. This was a well developed novel that could have been a companion to The Third Secret. Steve Berry’s research seems well conducted and the intertwining of fact and fiction is well done. I always look forward to the end where fact is separated from fiction. Looking forward to The Last Kingdom.

Fun, summer brain-candy from my parents’ place. Also, it helped me cross off the “Published in 2022” box for Adult Summer Reading Bingo courtesy of the Yellowknife Public Library

I'm not going to lie, I read this while in the midst of a fog of depression, so I was only paying attention to, like, maybe 60% of this book? I'm going to give it two stars, which is "It was OK", because any criticism I have might also just be that I was lost in my gloom and not paying attention.

I haven't skimmed through so much of a book since college 40 yrs ago. Story line was good but there was way too much historical and character development content placed, unfortunately in the middle of action. I found myself skipping multiple pages at a time in order to follow dialogue of a scene. Won't be reading anymore Steve Berry books, I think.

United Nation's Cultural Liason, Nicholas Lee protects the world's Cultural Artifacts. Nic travels to Belgium and uncovers a mystery surrounding the Ghent Altarpiece which has been vandalised 13 times. He finds himself in the middle of the Saint-Michael Maidens and the Vaticans dispution.

With such a hard topic the writing style was great with a solid flow and at a good pace. A plot well thought out. The MC is not well known to us and hope if this becomes a series his character will be explored more. The narration was excellent and the bright red book cover captures your attention immediately.

This book holds two significant storyline. It gives us both historical fiction and a lot of mystery & thriller aspects. There is quite a bit in this book. Not one to take lightly. A good storyline for sure with loads of facts. I appreciated the author's note, which gave significant insight. Overall I did enjoy this book.

Thank you Netgalley and Hachett Audio for this Arc.

I really enjoy Berry's books, and I hadn't read one in a while -this was good! I didn't really appreciate most of the characters except Nick - they weren't likable, or maybe I just couldn't relate. The story had me absolutely hooked! This story is so well done, just as expected. I found the ending pretty unsatisfying both for the details that were shared, and those that weren't.

I recommend this to fans of Steve Berry, as well as those that wanted more out of anything that they've read by Dan Brown :)
