Short and loving return to Elfhame. It is beautiful to spend just a bit more time with Jude and Carden.

Oh hey I finally finished the book.
First of, I have to say that the illustrations were freakin' awesome. I would buy the book for the pretty pictures that reminded me of those illuminated manuscripts from the Renaissance. I also loved the fairytale tone. You could hear the "Once upon a time..." Then, to my delight, it turned dark like the original Grimm tales (and they all died hahaha)
I would have to say that you probably would have to like The Cruel Prince universe already as I didn't feel drawn in by these stories at all. However, they explained so much about Cardan's character and how he became the way he was because his villainous ways attracted attention of others (kinda like how someone kept acting out to get attention).
Like other typical The Cruel Prince works, the "action" started at around halfway point. The little fairytale they've been telling over and over throughout the book finally made sense.
The journey was confusing but it all made sense when you finally finished.
