Although there was some really beautiful, relatable description and some funny lines, the plot and character development was not great at all imo!
Having the male love interest calling his mother and partner ‘woman’ repeatedly doesn’t not make him funny, endearing or likeable!! Also, the way in which the many spicy/steamy scenes where written was not for me in the slightest.

I read this quickly and liked a lot about it! The realistic portrayal of complication in a relationship got me and I thought Chloe's character was fleshed out. It was nice to read a romance where the protagonist wasn't perfect. The writing sometimes took me out of the story (the author used the adjective 'lush' on almost every page). I will still be passing this one on to my girlfriends, though!

I will occasionally pick up a rom-com when I need something light and fun, and this one didn't disappoint, I enjoyed the story itself and being let into the lives of both the main love interests.
I really appreciate that the author choose to write a love story about someone who is differently abled as the main love interest & didn't just gloss over/only mention in passing the fact that she has pain that makes her life challenging everyday. It was done in a way that we understood it was a constant thing, but it wasn't the sole identity of the person. I think the way everything about Chloe's life was portrayed was very well done and it's important to highlight because there are too many people in the world who feel they are not portrayed in stories, at least not always in flattering ways.
I also thought the mental anguish Red (the male love interest) went through was portrayed well. There are many somewhat taboo things that you don't see many male characters doing that I think are important and well done in this story. He admits to his previous girlfriend was abusive to him, he is now giving therapy a try & the anxiety/panic attack he has is depicted really well. These are all very real things that are too often overlooked or not thought of as a problem for men. Overall I am impressed with the depth that this book actually had to it, it was enough to keep me interested and listening to a narrator that I didn't think really did this book justice.
