while her other books were great i feel that this book was kind of rushed and kind of all clumped together.
its clear shes going to make this a series i just hope she doesnt make it a freaken 17 book series kind of thing.
seeing as how she knew this book wasnt going to be the last one, she shouldnt have clumped it all together.
it did NOT throw me off the series and i will definetly finish it, i just hope she doesnt drag it out to long and i hope she releases the 4th book soon because other than Laurel, Shar, David and Chelsea/Ryan, im already forgetting all the other names.
PLEASE RELEASE SOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ik kreeg niet de ILLUSIE dat dit boek heel leuk was. Flauwe woordgrappen, dit is al de derde vandaag. Maar goed, dit boek vond ik niet zo geweldig. Lees mijn recensie waarom: http://nerdygeekyfanboy.com/recensie/recensie-illusions-wings-3/
I found this book to be a little different than the other ones. Each time I pick up and read one of these books I fall for Tam all over again.
This ending.... >_<
Tamani & Laurel just need to get together and then the series can just end because there's like no more plot anymore it's just Laurel whining about how she loves tamani & also loves David. and i'm like, chicky, you can't have your cake and eat it too! Just pick a guy! Or none at all!

This book held a lot of confusion and scattered puzzle pieces. There were so many bread crumbs, but not enough to connect them until the end. And even then, it was difficult to see the full picture. Plot points that I believed to be glossed over were revisited, and it felt almost haphazardly done.
One glorious moment wasLaurels breaking up with David . I love the two of them together, but this book shows their freying bond more than ever. I particularly enjoyed David and Tam’s conversation. It was shockingly down to earth. I appreciate Laurel’s “I need to be alone for a while” mentality. I’m not rooting for David or Tam— I’m team Laurel all the way. I saw Chelsea’s love for David coming from a mile away, for the record. Peep my last books review .
I’ll admit, I didn’t see Shar’s alleged betrayal coming, but I’m curious to see where it goes. I suppose a part of me doesn’t want to believe it because of what it will do to Tam if he’s sent away forever.
I’m truly excited to keep reading on— the plot resolution is finally beginning to shine through! Can’t wait to get to the bottom of this mystery.

Laurel yet again must try to reconcile her two very different worlds, in the third book of the Wings series. She is torn between her two loves as well as the two worlds she inhabits. Not only must she deal with these problems, but also the arrival of an unknown and unforeseen entity.
This book was excellent, just as the others were. Was sorry to see it end, but I am anxiously awaiting the next book!

Illusions picks up a fair bit after where Spells, the second book, left off. Laurel has returned from Avalon, and it's the very first day of her very last year of high school. Everyone's getting ready to go off to college, prepping their applications and taking the SAT one last time. Everyone except Laurel, who still has to make a choice--will she spend her next four years getting a degree she'll likely never use, or go back to the Academy in Avalon and leave everything she's ever known, forever?
If anything, matters are only complicated by the arrival of two new students, both foreign. Yuki from Japan, and Tam Collins of Scotland. Both faeries.
Somehow, already knowing Tam(ani) isn't making the issue any simpler.
Out of the series so far, this is definitely the slowest of the books. Trolls barely show their faces, and Laurel spends nearly the entire time in California, with only a brief stint in Avalon. What's in the book didn't disappoint me, but what's not in the book was what I really wanted. The last two books left the series with a fair number of loose ends, and Illusions is the book to tie them into a loose bow, just in time for book four (untitled, it seems, so far--expected publication about a year from now). Being in California, there's no cool faerie additions into the mythology of the books--really the thing that kept me reading the series--though it's clear that Laurel's skill set is still growing. She works in her bedroom lab to give us a little hint of the magic, but it's still not much. Trolls seem to be on hiatus, something that at least is mentioned, with a few uneasy glances, by the sentries.
Essentially this book is made up of character interaction, stuff that wouldn't be as entertaining to sort out during Book Four, which I anticipate to be at least mostly action and plot movement. David and Tamani's power struggle is central, and even though there is a real plot sort of thing--who the eff is Yuki?--it takes backseat to what was previously the romantic subplot.
Still, while this book was mostly fluff, I can't wait for the next. I read Illusions in about a day--two sittings between classes--and it's hardly painful to get through. It leaves a couple big unanswered questions for Book Four to address, and with the relationship stuff mostly sorted, or at least stable, Aprilynne Pike will really be able to make Four a massively fast-paced, action-filled novel. So, three stars for Illusions, but an anticipated four or more its sequel!

Super awesome fantasy violence and shocking twists that I LOVED! :D
Five stars!!
Five stars!!
Lots of action, but definitely a teenager book, just a touch poorly written.
