It was the first thing I've ever read by Oscar Wilde, and it made me fall in love with the man, and filled me with desire to know him more and read everything else he ever wrote.

I'll forever cherish this collection of short stories for introducing me to whom I know consider my literary bae <3

5 short stories that are various degrees of enjoyable. Quick and easy read. Reads like a fairytale/fable.

The Happy Prince: Cute and sweet story about how good deeds go unnoticed by most. Bittersweet ending.

The Nightingale and the Rose: Loved the picture book when I was younger. Nostalgic favourite. Tragic ending. Still love it. But is love really worth it?

The Selfish Giant: Sweet story about change and letting other people in. Christianity themed? Happy end.

The Devoted Friend: Disgusting. All characters unlikelable and rather stupid or very selfish. Death of a people pleaser. Selfish Asshole takes advantage of others and makes himself out to be a hero. Senseless. Like real life.

The Remarkable Rocket: Self-centered protagonist is delusional and annoying. As worthless as he always makes out to be. Enraging.

These are the kind of fairy tales I have been waiting to read all my life! So glad I discovered Wilde and his genius short story writing.

The Happy Prince - bom. Tadinha da andorinha. Ela faz muita coisa por amor.
The Nightingale and the Rose - ótimo. Se matar pra dar pra alguém uma coisa que ela quer (e de que nem precisa) não parece muito vantajoso.
The Selfish Giant - bom. Owwnn, esse é uma gracinha.
The Devoted Friend - ótimo. Vontade de matar o "amigo" (mas ele ainda diria que estava sendo incrível).
The Remarkable Rocket - ótimo. Vontade de matar o foguete (mas ele ainda acharia que estava sendo incrível).
