A cute little collection of tales that, even over a hundred years later, still has relevance to the modern day. Wilde shows a biting sense of humour even in these works, clearly aimed at children. I can see these tales appealing to children even now and some of the best lines are the ones that showcase a dry wit for the adults.

The four tales all share certain similarities and all have distinct morals, but also have the strong imagery and imagination to capture young minds. I certainly quite enjoyed this trip back in time.

Oscar Wilde is the most dramatic man in the world and I love him, and I love these short stories. Especially pleased to be able to read them through a queer lens for the first time - thanks, high school.

“I am not going to stop talking to him merely because he pays no attention. I like hearing myself talk. It is one of my greatest pleasures. I often have long conversations all by myself, and I am so clever that sometimes I don’t understand a single word of what I am saying.”

“Then you should certainly lecture on Philosophy,” said the Dragon-fly

Hilarious and touching stories. even though they are written for children, everyone can learn something from these.
