This didn’t seem quite like other books I’ve read by the author. It includes gaslighting which I am not fond of at all. An engaging read for the most part.

Meh. Entertaining to read and interesting characterization, but felt kinda half baked. Rachel was super interesting by far and I loved her beginning, and how she reflects on what it’s like being Tully’s sister, but again I needed more. I felt like Darcy slid in there too easily and made her character arc unbelievable.

There really wasn’t suspense in this story and I didn’t love the ending. I would’ve preferred a more nefarious twist, rather than the half baked, up to your interpretation, maybe this maybe that. I kept hoping Fiona would play a larger role but she really didn’t besides being a poorly developed plot device to make you wonder.

All in all, good characters and development but the actual suspense and mystery fell flat for me. I didn’t hate reading it, definitely felt some scenes packed more of a punch than I expected, but I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. Just okay.

More family drama than mystery/thriller, so I think I had some unrealistic expectations going into this one. There is a sort of twist, but it's not a shocking reveal as much as we take a winding path to lead us there for the ultimate conclusion. I really love Sally Hepworth's writing and will continue to pick up her books, but I think I'm left a bit disappointed because I wanted a thriller and didn't get one. Objectively the storytelling here is very well done

It’s definitely an easy read, held my attention the entire time. I just had to find out what happened, she gives you a teaser in the beginning that sets the hook. Is it my favorite of hers, no, but still really good.

3.5

Typical family drama type of thriller but with a ton of mental health struggles thrown in for all the characters
