Pretty Good

This was an easy to follow read with some cool parts but overall left me wanting more suspense and fear. It didn't grip me quite how I'd have liked it to but I finished it quickly while I was doing other things and liked it enough that i would definitely read another book by this author.

I'm not totally sure where the high rating for this book came from. The central mystery was so-so. While the solution made sense and there weren't any loose ends, I figured it out halfway through and it wasn't very clever. The writing was also very stilted to the point where I was legitimately distracted by it. Like, the author picked the weirdest times NOT to use a contraction.

Overall, it was really just okay.

It was cool. Not as suspenseful as you’d think a book about a serial killer would be.

I picked this book up on a whim and am glad I did. It was action packed and a good read.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR BOTH THE AUDIOBOOK AND EBOOK VERSIONS
That was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed these characters and the narrators did a spectacular job bringing life to the characters. The story was well written, thrilling, interesting and I just couldn't put it down. I recommend this book and hope to see more like this in the future regarding the narration with audiobook versions.

An extremely enjoyable police procedural meets creepy murder book. This skillfully written book takes you deep into the twisted mind of a serial killer, the very personal life of a homicide detective and her ex-junkie sister. This is a character driven book, and you can't wait to learn more about the people in it. I especially enjoyed the strong female lead in the book, as well as her sister, who had to step up and be the strong one.

I read this book in two sittings, because I simply could not let it go. I had to find out whodunnit and why. I think the characters in this book are extraordinary. They simply work. While reading I saw it as a clear film in my head. All the small details were vivid. I really wish this wasn't a standalone, because I am sure I would grow to like the characters even more. I love their rich background stories, and I think they would have much more to give.

Suspenseful

Suspenseful with just a hint of romance.
