Well this was a really unique read.
Having not watched Slumdog Millionaire, which is based on this book, so everything was new to me.
I listen to the audijbtand it was very immersive, told from the POV of our MC on the show to win a billion rupees.
Each question is preceded by some life event with a full cast narration that explains how he came to know the answer.
I chose this to fulfill the letter Q in a reading challenge and I'm really glad I did.

I picked up this book almost immediately after seeing Slumdog Millionaire, which is still one of my favorite movies of all time. Unfortunately, I wasn't as taken with Q & A as I was with the movie.
For starters, the main character, Ram, is not as likable as the movie's protagonist. He isn't necessarily a bad guy, but he's just a little flat. Also there were sections of this book that I just did not really care about.
That said, I loved the section where Ram's friend was just speaking gibberish. By the end of the section, I was able to decipher the language and started reading him as naturally as the rest of the book.

Very cool! I'm glad I saw the movie before I read the book, because it gave some context, but I think the author does a better job in the book of weaving together the story. The many parts of the book is not the same as the movie, in major ways. I don't want to give it away, but I was quite impressed with this book, and the story-telling ability! highly recommend this book!

I was enthralled, surprised, horrified and completely charmed by this story. I picked it up knowing nothing about it - had not seen the film or read any reviews. I was captivated by the engaging narrator and colorful characters. One of my favorite reads this year.
This book was made into the movie Slumdog Millionare. It is so much better than the movie and hard to put down.
As is always the case, I enjoyed this book more than the movie. And it's entirely different.
Even though I kept wondering how an Indian "diplomat" can write about life in the slums, his storytelling is indeed convincing.

I’ve never seen the movie, but I think that this was really a good book. It took a little longer to read because the urgency wasn’t necessarily there. I love how the chapters were divided up, but each had its natural end so this means that I didn’t necessarily feel compelled to read the next. But I think as an overall work it was very good. The only thing I didn’t love was the epilogue. I mean what happened was good, but the way it was written was a bit cheesy, but maybe that was on purpose. To capture that very typical early 2000s movie ending feel.
