I really liked the storyline - it made a really good fantasy setting. However, I do feel like the ending was a bit too rushed - I had to reread parts of it to fully wrap my head around it. Overall a pretty good book, and although I didn’t really like Tella that much in this book I hope I find out more about her in the next one.

main character was sooooo annoying to me and the love interest storyline also weirded me out and prob would’ve given this one star and DNF’ed but i did enjoy the world that was built around caraval

I really wanted to like this more than I did! Not sure if I had just heard too much excitement for it, but the story never really gripped me and I never felt myself grow a strong attachment to any of the characters. The cliffhanger ending may be enough to get me to read the next book, but unfortunately it’s not one of my favourites this year.
