Not necessarily Christie’s most famous book, but perhaps her most ingenious and sophisticated.

I ❤️ papa Poirot.

I must've mentioned it here before, but I used to be a huge fan of Poirot in middle school. I think it was the television series that first introduced him to me. The first Poirot novel I read, if I remember correctly, was The A.B.C. Murders. I was instantly hooked and spent all of that summer reading Poirot novels and short stories. I never read all of them, but there certainly were tall piles of Christie's books in my room, so after over fifteen years it's not surprising I've probably forgotten most of the twists and solutions. Still, a few novels left such a strong impression that it would be impossible to ever forget them. Of course, I'm talking about this particular book (as well as Murder on the Orient Express and Ten Little Niggers; sorry, that's the version I read). I don't feel like saying anything else about this classic murder mystery. Rereading The Murder of Roger Ackroyd was very entertaining and there were many surprises I didn't remember. The illustrated Folio Society edition is also such a treat.

I was expecting more. Mostly because of the films I have watched. Butttt the end caught my attention, and I ended up linking this book very much.
