Harper finds herself house sitting a house of comical horrors between the veritable zoo, running plumbing, old diaries, and remnants of a funeral home. If all of this can't cure writers block, then maybe her instant dislike / lust of Stone will. The relationships are fantastic and believable - an overbearing mother, brothers with raging hormones, gossiping elders bucking change, and a guy and a girl who will keep you on your toes. It's been a while since I read one of Cat's books but it is as fabulous as I expected. This is full of crazy antics, lust, wildlife, and steamy good times.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

While this book had its moments, I can only say that it’s okay. It did give those small town feels that I was looking for and it even made me laugh quite a few times. However, I felt like the story dragged quite a bit at times. The relationship between Harper and Stone was okay, but I need to be honest and say that the chemistry wasn’t really there. I would have believed them to be more friends than lovers.

All in all, I have to appreciate a book that can make me laugh. This did that hand gave that southern charm that I love. Everything else including the romance, I wasn’t crazy about it. I see that this is a series, but I’m going to call it quits with this one.

Can you ever imagine me wanting MORE romance? This just didn't seem to have it. It's a shame, because the storybwas adorable and right there for the taking, but it seemed a little caught up in the town and drama vs. The actual romance aspect.

It was OK. Kind of slow, not much happened and the inserts of "Rose's journal" between every chapter were bothersome. They didn't even have anything to do with the story at the moment. If they would have been, for example, about the river before the chapter in which the MCs float down It on old tires, the experience would have been better. But no.

Very light-hearted and nice. Cute and funny characters, and even cuter animals.

Although it was an easy read, at the same time it wasn't...? I usually read a book like this in a day, maybe two if I'm really busy. I finished this in 5 days... It kind of bored me... The book had so much potential behind the romance and it was all wasted.

Every mention of Rose's diaries and the dirty secrets of the locals made me so giddy to see the drama unfold and make the book be much more. Instead we got a couple that doesn't know how to communicate properly, like they miss the basic couple communication skills; we got instant bonding even though the author made sure we know from the beginning how much Stone hates city people and city behaviour, but just because Harper is hot they become soulmates... Hmm, no.

There was no slow burn to make me want to devour their romance. I was more interested in the secrets lying inside the journals than the romance. And I was disappointed in both aspects.

It was cute, but cute was not enough for me right now.
