At times I felt like the red herrings and storyline were too thick to keep my head and heart invested in the outcome. I loved the character development of Olivia and Ethan and would honestly love to read another book just about the two of them. Overall, great mystery!

I realize that the MC needs to make decisions to increase tension and everything but the TSTL actions of Olivia was honestly so frustrating. There are better YA fictions.

I really enjoyed this! It was kind of a Gossip Girls meets Twin Peaks murder mystery.

This was fun while I was listening to it, but isn’t probably anything I’ll remember. Also, I kept screaming internally whenever Olivia would touch evidence without gloves (seriously, you don’t think to use gloves when you know you’re a suspect???) and I’m literally so tired of having teenage characters who think that they’re more capable of solving a crime than actual legitimate detectives/officers who do that as their job

First things first, this book is incredibly soapy, but I still loved this book! It’s my favorite book of 2021 so far. This book has the best depiction of college admissions I’ve seen in YA. But considering Donne works in college essay consulting, I expected that. I had a ton of fun reading about the friendship dynamics the girls have. Olivia is a scholarship student and seems to have more personal ethical boundaries compared to the others. But she tends to let her ambition to move up in the world overtake her. Donne integrates Olivia’s class into the story well, making her a lot more palatable to readers. In addition to loving Olivia, I also really liked Avery, Emma, and Sierra (Margot is the least fleshed out of the Ivies). All of the characters are flawed, and I wouldn’t want to ever hang out with them, but they’re fascinating to read about.

Wasn’t horrible, wouldn’t read again. It was very slow in the beginning and had to read like 60 pages for something interesting to happen. The book didn’t keep me hooked and wasn’t as good as I was hoping for. I had to force myself to finish it.
