a YA novel about a group of girls that will do anything to get into their dream Ivy League schools! This book started out super strong. I was immediately sucked into this circle of friends and wanted to know everything about them. The dark academia setting of an elite New England prep school was giving Gossip Girl in the best way.
About halfway through the book, I found myself losing interest as the mystery and suspense dragged a bit. I think that was mostly due to it being YA. Overall, it was still a fun book to read and such an interesting concept for a story!

Funny, vicious, brilliant high school drama (4.5 stars) - Wears its influences on its sleeve and has such fun with them that it's difficult not to have fun while reading it.

I enjoyed this one. A very dark look into the competitive and dangerous game that is elite college admissions.
This book is best described in one word: MESSY. Messy in the best possible way!! This book takes you in a wild rollercoaster ride and leaves you with whiplash and saying “wtf happened??”. I listened to the audio and I found myself having to keep rewinding because I was missing something! I didn’t feel like I could trust any of the characters and that stressed me out. This book sucked me in and I missed the feeling of not wanting to put a book down! This was a really good YA mystery thriller and now I don’t want to leave this genre! Also, this book had me questioning why Ivies hold such importance??

I really enjoyed it! While not a fully five star read, I know that’s the only thing that really helps an author (because this author has said so in her own videos) and I would love to support her. The plotting is immaculate, the twists are twisty, and I fell into this world. This book made me want to constantly read. Some parts of the writing (specifically dialogue) could use polish, but overall I really enjoyed The Ivies!
I give a lot of credit to the author for giving the protagonist a harder landing in the end, that said, the final reveal that gets us there was a let down.
