Pros about this book:
- I like the MCs they're both interesting.
- The romance is nice.
- The storyline is good. The pacing is a little off but the overall storyline is OK.

Cons about this book:
- About half way through the plot and pacing just went for me and I was struggling through it.
- The book felt way longer than it was. I kept staring at the kindle page count and questioning life and myself. It just went on and on.

My final thoughts about this:
Overall not the worst book I read but considering I just 5 star rated an Heartless by Elsie Silver this paled in comparison and yeah that's a western with a grumpy and sunshine trope and this is fake dating that was a pleasure to read and listen and this was just not. The beginning and ending are good the middle let's it down.

4.5 stars. Gosh darn it I loved this. Give some of that south Philly community and hard work. Man I loved this cast of characters!

Swoon…

I love Kathryn Nolan’s writing and I swooned over Rowan & Charlie in this novel. A bit of a slow burn, fake-relationship drama and such an joyful peek at South Philly. Coming back to the same characters we’ve met before was also a bonus. A great read

Off the Mark was a slow burn romantic story between friends who always flirted with crossing the line. Always there for each other even after many years apart Rowan steps up the challenge when Charlie needs to clean up her image and having a fake boyfriend becomes part of that.

This was a sweet friends to lovers book with minimal angsty drama. I loved that Charlie was the motocross rider and fought to be all that she can be while struggling with everything that goes along with it. I also liked that this story showed that when those big dreams come crashing down it doesn't mean the end of everything. These two were perfect for each other!

Kathryn Nolan always delivers on the sweet, swoony, and sexy story vibes! This book involves characters from On The Ropes, which I would recommend reading first. Overall, these two books aren’t my favorite of hers, but they are both still enjoyable.

What another very awesome read from one of my favorite authors. This book had characters we met in a previous book. And a FMC that is new to us. We got to see more of the neighborhood and the residents in this one. It's awesome because the foundation built in the first book gets expanded into here.

If I close my eyes I can hear the sound of kids playing on the sidewalk, people chatting on their front stoops, hear the gossip Alice and Eddie are sharing in the community garden and smell the summer heat. Kathryn Nolan’s words transport you right into the heart of Tenth Street in South Philly.
Ever since I read Rowan talking to Dean "I know it's easier to retreat. You know I've been there before." in On The Ropes I have looked forward to his story. Rowan has such an amazingly big heart with so much to give to others. Charlie is a badass heroine. Together they are both adorable and scorching hot! Though they have been friends for a long time - helping and supporting each other - they have ignored their simmering chemistry because they struggle with being vulnerable and giving their whole heart. Their journey to a happily ever after was full of love and laughter and a few tears.
