Learned a lot as expected, but there was callouts of sexism in STEM spanning hundreds of years that I wasn’t expecting and appreciate having called out by the authors.

A fascinating read in which most of the math is broken down into simple terms for the layperson to understand. I love that there are folks this smart working on problems like this, even if I'll never be one of them.

An amazing book which beautifully explored the origins of maths, theorems and the numerical complexity of life; the book succinctly charts and linearly exposes the solitary and challenging facets of those who possess the ability to unravel the world mathematically.

I enjoyed the psycho-sense of spirituality and universality of the collective mission for mathematical truth and validity within humanity. As well as the way in which maths like many other disciplines has been persecuted, giving a new insight into the history of maths beyond its contemporary presence in society.

I read this book as a requirement for my math class (Precalc in high school) and I must say, I found myself thoroughly enjoying it, even though most of my class passed it off as that-book-you-have-to-read-for-school-but-find-horribly-boring.
Maybe it's just cause I'm really good at, and fond of, mathematics, but I still think it's a great book. A good read for people even vaguely interested in math.
I was amused by the little puzzles in the book that you could play along and try to solve (there were even solutions in the back) and it made the history of math entertaining.
Overall, I enjoyed it and I could see myself re-reading it later in my life.
