I really enjoyed this book and the perfect first book in the series following on from the Off-Campus series and introduction into the Briar U series. It was great to get cameos and appearances from the Off-Campus characters like Hannah, Garrett, Dean, Allie, and Tucker (even little Jamie). I loved Fitz and Summer and the relationship between them. I loved how Fitz wasn’t the typical jock, he’s a hockey player yes but he’s also artsy and a video gaming nerd. He does what he can to avoid the spotlight.
Summer is a little firecracker and also Dean’s little sister. I absolutely loved that Elle had an ADHD representation in this book and I think it’s something we should see more often. She’s funny and loud and naturally draws the attention of those around her. But that’s what they always say, opposites attract.
This book also tackled some slightly heavier topics, like SA, but Elle Kennedy managed to keep the situations light. But at the end of the day is it goes along like all of Elle’s other books a fun, light romance with angst and lusting, with so much compatibility between the two of them who couldn’t come from worlds further apart. Elle also introduces a new character in this book, Brenna, which I think who the next book will be about, Summer’s new best friend and Coach Jensen’s daughter.
