PLEASE tell me this isn't the last Ryan Dean West novel!

My review is here.

LOVED this. Just as much as I loved Winger.

I loved this book just as much as the first one. Ryan dean is definitely one of my favorite characters! He is so funny, but he does have his flaws which just make him even more perfect. The new characters in this book are lovely as well. It was fun to read about spotted John, since i am from Denmark as well :-)
emotional funny sad medium-paced

I miss the Abernathy already

I got an arc of this book and it was just as good as the first one, maybe even better!

A perfect sequel to a perfect book. I couldn't ask for more. It had everything Winger had: heart, soul, humor. Simply bittersweet, in the absolute best way.

I read Winger in late November/early December last year because it is one of my best friend’s favorite books. I read it from 5 pm to 2 am the day I bought it. I was excited about the second one in the series as well and waited until it went on sale to buy it (I’m all about that bargain). Andrew Smith has a very distinct tone and I fell in love with it since the first page of Winger (I have now read 100 Sideways Miles and Grasshopper Jungle). I would imagine that it would take a couple of chapters for most people to really get into it though. Because this is the second book of the series, I really don’t want to say anything about the plot or the characters. Although, both of them were very well thought out and a lot of effort was put into them. I enjoyed both quite a lot. Smith is able to accurately write about mental illnesses without discriminating them or toning them down any. He does a fantastic job executing all of these different issues (both plot and character). AND CONSENT! In all of Smith’s books that I’ve read, there’s always been stuff about consent. A+, Andrew. Of course there were problems with this book, just like everything else. However, the problems were subdued based on the uniqueness, humor, and execution that Andrew Smith puts into his writing. Please give him a try. Stand-Off deserves a full review. Too bad I don’t have time for that right now. Maybe one day.

Another book that I didn't think needed a sequel. It was okay, but I still wish that Winger stayed a standalone novel.
