The dialogue was awkward. On the one hand, the characters are teens. They definitely behave like high achieving seniors in high school that are unpacking the biggest lessons they’ve learned so far.

But. I am so far removed from that time in my life that I couldn’t stick it out. I was also not keen on the romantic imaginations of teens when I was a teen. It felt trapping. So this DNF is probably more personal. Lol

I'm craving Butter chicken so bad right now 😭 there are recipes all throughout the book which was such a great touch!

such a sweet book, its very wholesome. I enjoyed the romance a lot I think Radha & Jai were very adorable together even if they both need to work on their communication skills lol

I really loved how anxiety and panic attacks were described and handled in the book!

The audiobook narrators were both great I loved the dual POV a lot.

I will say there's a few triggers to be aware of stroke, mental health (anxiety and panic attacks), maternal emotional manipulation (gaslighting)

overall a really good YA romance!

This was seriously so good and exactly the kind of book I needed after those godawful books I have been reading lately.
It has the perfect mix of Bollywood dancing and Indian cooking without laying it on TOO thick. And a love story to top it all off.
This is the kind of book that makes me happy!

This was a charming YA romance featuring two Bollywood dancing teens learning to follow their dreams despite family expectations and obligations. Radha walks away from her competitive Kathak dance life after a scandal involving her mother and Jai is trying to balance his love for dance and dreams for college with the need to help his family. I loved all the Indian food cooking scenes - Radha's father is a chef and together they make a lot of delicious meals!

There was also great mental health rep in this book. Radha suffers from anxiety and is brave enough to ask her parents for help finding a therapist she can talk to. Radha has a complicated relationship with her mother that they work through, while Jai struggles to balance his passions with being a caregiver for his disabled father and grandfather recovering after a stroke. A sweet #ownvoices romance full of desi culture recommended for fans of Instructions for dancing or A pho love story.

This is more of a 2.5 because of the whole dance thing. I'm sorry, I just don't really like those. She did write dating dr.dil, which I gave four stars because it was really good and I really liked it so I was a bit disappointed with this one.
