Slight transmedicalist vibes, the idea that if Fumi gets GRS she might lose a her ability to see spirits. It’s suggested/stated that the ability is only passed down through the male family line so it’s sort of like saying she’s not completely a woman until she has the surgery. Also in regards to the suicide, it’s suggested that suicide is akin murder towards the end which is just a bit off.
