I just have one question. Why is Ms. Clare so obsessed with incest? Nobody wants to read about that! Does anyone have an answer? I didn't think so. The only reason I'm reading these books is for Simon and Magnus. It was pretty good though, just because Clare definitely knows how to pull you in, even if this has serious potential to be a satire because of how dramatic and outright ridiculous some of the lines are. I'm still reading this stupid series though, so I guess she must be doing something right. Also Melanie's (meltotheany's) reviews for this series are impeccable, you should read them because my thoughts are very similar and Malanie articulates them very well. I did binge 4 of the Shadowhunters books this month, utterly to my surprise, but I think I'll take a break from them for a second.
Love These Books , Love This Series ! This Book Gave me All The Feels , Sad , Happy , Excited , I Laughed out loud .. Already starting Heavenly Fire , These books are so difficult to put down . They Are Addicting !!!

After fallen angels I literally did not want to even pick this book up because fallen angels pissed me off so much. But honestly immediately this was so much better. While fallen angels was gravely lacking a plot, this book began at full speed with so much happening from the get go. I loved the good team’s dynamics overall and all the sub stories that were happening with Simon and Isabelle and Maya and Jordan. The TIDbits (if u get what i mean) were such a delight & Simon remained a fav of mine. Honestly, Alec was PISSIN ME OWFFF & he deserved getting broken up with, poor Magnus but also poor Alec, I did feel bad for him in the end after it all. On the flip side I liked the bad team as well, seeing the real Jace come back for that one evening was so emotional and made me really realise how subtly Cassandra Clare managed to write the same character as different when possessed and not, because I too truly believed that possessed Jace was just himself and then when he came back to himself I was like omg thiiissss this is Jace, I almost forgot but yes excited for the last book now and less angry about fallen angels now that I finished this one

So good! I think this is the first book in the Shadowhunter Chronicles that really feels like an ensemble cast. We get little bits of everyone and it feels really cohesive.
Like most TMI books, by biggest complaint just comes from my own disinterest in Clary. I don’t hate her, but I just wish there was a little more to her. She does really shine in this book though.

SIGHHHHHHHHHHH. Here I am again, basically saying the same thing I've been saying for a while about the Mortal Instruments, if you haven't read it read it, if you have then you know what I'm going through. ESPECIALLY with the near end of this book. And ah Malec, I love and hate you for what you do to me.
