I honestly am so upset with having to rate this but I feel like I was confused this whole book.
I know Rebecca loves to leave us crumbs but I feel like I missed a lot of the plot on this one. There are more questions than answers really and at this point in a series I would hope we could solidly tie up some loose ends.

Honestly I took forever to read this one; maybe I just wasn’t ready.
I love this story and these characters but this was just a whole word salad.

I have such mixed thoughts on this book. I enjoyed it but not as much as the previous ones. I loved the story but it also felt repetitive and slow.

This book is too long, too detailed in the wrong places, too scarce in others. Yarros’ writing is not always clear and everyone I have spoken to who has read this found it confusing from the start. This is not the mark of successful fantasy writing. I think Yarros has a lot to make up for in the next book and a lot of clarity to provide.
