Underage smoking is present. Sexual jokes and slut-shaming pop up occasionally. Frequent "jokes" about suicide and self-harm. The 16-year-old main character is infatuated with her adult teacher, with some brief visuals of them kissing and several scenes of them in the teacher's house. There is also some vaguely uncomfortable behavior there on the protagonist's behalf, with her independently finding her teacher's address in the first place.poetsaredepressed's review against another edition

It also makes me hopeful in a weird way? Like hopefully we’ll make it better for our younger generations. The more we acknowledge the more accountability happens right? I hope so.
Idk, just really resonated with me. Probably will be a read that I come back to often. Maybe not in conversation, maybe not physically re-reading it, but just my general thoughts when I’m reminiscing about high school and how far I’ve come.

One of the things I loved most about it was watching a friendship dissolve in a way that was neither bitter or painful, but simply a relationship that had reached its natural end. I think that the emphasis on the closing of these old relationships (particularly some that are not particularly healthy) as a pathway to something new was really remarkable.
