I knew the ending of this book. I saw a spoiler on tumblr when I was about twenty pages in, and flipped to the back to check. I saw the last words and quickly stopped. I had time to brace what was going to happen, and even when I knew, the ending hurt like hell.

This was the first John Green book I read, and I adore it. His characters were so real, it was like I was going on this journey with them. I couldn't get enough of this book. I cannot praise John enough. It was beautifully written, emotional, and the characters where wonderful.

Thank you, John Green. Thank you for stabbing my heart.

★★★★ // If I am to read this now, I realize that I probably would not have felt as strongly about it as when I first read it in high school. But then I read this book in high school, and it is a period in my life where I am in search of a contemporary perspective in the young adult life. Yes, there are 'better' books out there—classics, probably—but this one still remains to be an especially amazing love story and a story about two individuals dealing with life even with their numbered days. It is one of the contemporary books that helped me deal with my fear of death, which then eventually led me to be more open with the fact that all this will come to end. It made me think if we as human beings really leave a mark in this world, and whether we will be remembered come the end of our lives. It's an intimate reading experience, and one that I will cherish for a long, long time. I unabashedly consider this the book of my teenage life.

It's such a sad book - I cried my eyes out. But it also gave me an insight into the life of two teenagers who have cancer. Such a great book! The best John Green novel.

I literally can't put this book down. This is one of the best books I have read in my life, no kidding. This deserves every book award, and John Green is now one of my favorite authors. Hands down.
