overrated but not a bad book by any means.

best book ever its my new favorite

This book is generally really good. It just turns really stereotypical, and not necessarily in a good way. Had it been more self-aware, or written a bit differently, I would have given it 5 stars

About Hazel and Gus, Hazel has cancer, Gus Has had cancer - they meet in a support group. They fall in love and Gus supports Hazel through her “make a wish” - where they go to amsterdam.
Hazel is really sick and gus supports her through her final moments, but sadly Gus dies first - which is a big plot in the story.

About love, finding humor in the sadness, grief, coming of age, forever a golden young adult !

This one's a tear jerker for sure! I like it less and less as time goes by because it was pretty over the top and not very unique. Good read though.

I should just list what I loved about this book and it would be just as long as it will take me to jot down this or that concerning just a few of my favorites. I have to say that I loved the fact that this story was told through Hazel’s point of view. I’m no stranger to John Green’s writing, but thus far every book he’s written has had a main-female role that was pivotal to the story, but they were all told through the male’s voice. And yet, finally, in The Fault in Our Stars we readers get to hear the story as told by Hazel. Also, the writing is very honest. John Green really gets into the head of this terminal girl and writes in a way that makes you feel like you and Hazel are best friends and having a chat. I also can’t end this section of my review without saying that I loved the Litteral Heart of Jesus. If you want to know what that is- read the book.

I am doing my best to not give spoilers away in this review… which isn’t easy to do when the book is a story of a girl, and not ran by plot at all- meaning I have to be careful what I say. While this book is not my favorite book by John Green- that title is still a tie between An Abundance of Katherines and Paper Towns, it is still a 5-star book of it’s own right. While I enjoy snark and fast-paced stories that keep you guessing usually, sometimes it is even better to just sit down and listen to someone’s story- that that’s exactly what the readers of The Fault in Our Stars experience. Honest, real communication from fictional characters. Definitely a book that my life wouldn’t be as complete without having read it.
