I'm only a quarter of the way in yet but totally love this book.
Love the subject matter... er, more accurately, love the writing, and I'm engaged in the subject matter. lol (I've been a pissed off feminist since I was seven and found out that the world has different rules for girls - starting when I wasn't allowed to wear pants to school, and later wasn't allowed to play little league baseball, and... (Title IX came too late for my baseball career. ;)
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of it. This is the first book of Hurley's that I've read. Recently read a short, and *IIRC* saw this book mentioned in the anthology bio, and couldn't resist the title. I'm reading a copy from the library but will certainly be adding it to my personal library when I can.
Back to my reading! (Had to interrupt my reading of the essay "Die Hard, Hetaerae, and Problematic Pin-Ups: A Rant" to espouse my love for this book.)

Inexplicable me resultaría que este conjunto de ensayos pudiera herir a alguien, salvo si ese alguien tuviera el ego tan grande que no pudiera ver más allá. Es un hecho que la literatura de ciencia ficción y fantasía está cambiando gracias a nuevas voces de personas que han sido silenciadas durante décadas y su nueva visión del mundo alejada de la heteronormatividad y el clásico cuento del héroe permite que estos nuevos mundos estén mucho más enriquecidos y sean más interesantes a todos los niveles.
Un libro de ensayos muy interesante y que invita a leer a más autores desconocidos.

I’ve read a lot of writing recently that melds feminist ideology and “geek” culture and in my opinion, this one does it best. All at once personal, gripping, unflinchingly honest, and witty, I loved every single essay. This is one I’ll come back to when I need some kernels of inspiration.
