Hm. I'm going to dnf this. I feel zero desire to keep reading it. Maybe I'll return to it one day? Or not!

Be prepared to learn a LOT of context and “why” before getting to the actionable steps you can take. Totally worth the read.

A broad survey of a provocative idea that falls flat at the end. The most interesting part is the representation of Saitō’s research in Marx’s late writings and his shift from the belief in a progressive view of history to one grounded in “degrowth.” A lot of the book is unnecessary summarizing of previous points, and the case studies feel too small scale in comparison to the size of the idea. This one could have ultimately been shortened and condensed into a succinct manifesto.
