I'm enjoying this series! The characters are interesting and complex and for mafia romances they aren't overly dramatic. It mostly focuses on the characters and their inner struggles to overcome the lives they live in and I love it! Also the plot to spice ratio is well done! It doesn't feel overdone or repetitive or like you lose the plot in favour of the spice which I really enjoy!

this was my first ever “dark mafia romance” read and yes this felt like reading a wattpad fanfiction and yes christian also made me feel like a thrilled teenage girl hiding under the sheets while reading a fanfic that’s too vulgar for my age
also the author’s racist so

I loved this book so much! In fact, the storyline was better than the first book. The book is divided into two timelines; past and present. It was well-written and helped me to understand better and feel more connected with the characters. The intimate scenes were intensely hot! This was nearly perfect because I wish we could have more stories of them together.
”Say something in Russian.”
“Ty samaya krasivaya zhenshchina kotoruyu ya kogda-libo videl.”
“What did you say?”
“You’re annoying.”
He actually said: You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.
PLEASE I LITERALLY SCREAMED AT THIS

4/5 stars!!
You know when you’re loving a book so much your smiling ear to ear kicking your feet and blushing while reading? I felt like this for this book till about 100 pages to go. This was a real enemies to lovers where they actually hated each other I thought they would scrap at any moment at any time. The chemistry was just off the charts! I also absolutely loved Gianna. She was so funny and sarcastic. She also was so real I loved her a lot more than Elena. Gianna was far from perfect and that’s why I just adored her. From having drug and alcohol problems to a traumatic childhood she wasn’t your usual romance heroine. Again that’s why I absolutely loved her!
Everything about this book was perfect from pacing, characters, writing style! I was thinking to myself this has got to be one of the best romances ever. But I’m so frustrated with the last 100 pages. It just was so painfully dull. It’s so anticlimactic! I felt like the build up was just perfect a nice slow pace romance with the sexual tension off the charts. But why in the last 100 pages to go why they friends with benefits and literally nothing else happening in the plot?
It literally went from hating to love in like two seconds. I just felt it dragged soo much it was unreal. They literally have sex about 134 times and that’s it! I feel like this is where my snobby side comes out in these novels. I can’t just have that for 100 pages I need an actual plot. I just felt like this book was going to be one of my favourites? It was like the chemistry was killed just before it was about to come to a crescendo. And then it just womp womp womp. Like it was actually painful. I felt like the first book had it perfect. The slow pace of it all the tension ugh why! And then the ending I saw coming a million miles away.
It went from being this really unique story to just being like the rest of mafia romances just friends with benefits to next minute getting married in the same breath and the chemistry just dying off. With the first book Elena and Nicos chemistry and build up was just perfect. The passion the romance…where was it in the last 100 pages? I’m so gutted it’s unreal.
Even though I have just finished the book I’m still sore from the ending the first 300 pages were just to die for. Real enemies to lovers, Christian being so protective. I feel like towards the end as well Gianna was just idk…like girl stand up a bit. I felt like she had to grovel and beg for him at times it should have been the other way around like Nico for Elena. I know I shouldn’t compare but god the first book was so perfect!

Better than the first but also turns into like a weird rom-com.
