I think I started to appreciate KSR's writing way more after reading some of his other works. Without extravagant plot twists or back-to-back action scenes, I was kept engaged in this world for about 80 hours of listening, which is no small feat. I loved the insights into sociology and politics, as well the exploration of scientific concepts. I also enjoyed the ending tremendously, especially the penultimate chapter, with Sax's exploration into the nature of memory and the past.

A conclusion to the Mars trilogy that un-apologetically continues with what it does best. The political evolution of worlds in change. There are less individual stand out moments from the characters we have come to love and from the original cast fewer and fewer are present or relevant in the politics of Mars. But this is how it would span out. New people come to power, no one is ever 100% happy, conflicting interests acts on events to gain themselves.
It feels like I'm a fly on the wall at a Martian version of the american 1776 or the Norwegian 1814. The democratic growing pains of a young nation trying their best to lay the foundation of a planet that is evolving. A worthy ending to a great series.

If you can get through the first quarter of the book in which everyone debates what kind of constitution Mars should have...no, it's still not very exciting.
After a trilogy of long novels about the terraforming and settlement mars, with tons of characters, I feel like I don't really care about any of the characters.
10 years from now I probably won't remember much about these books except that they were long and go into great depth about climate science.
