As a fan of Top Chef, I remember Kristen's remarkable run through Last Chance Kitchen to get to the finals and win. This was a well-written memoir and she touches on her struggles and her failures, not just her successes. Her perspective covers lots of different experiences from being an adoptee, a Midwesterner, a woman in the culinary field, a queer woman, a restaurateur, a wife, and a television host.

Although I am not a follower of "Top Chef," I had previously enjoyed another program hosted by Kristen Kish. Therefore, when this title appeared in my library recommendations, I decided to explore it, as I am fond of autobiographies. I found Kristen's narrative to be both beautifully crafted and genuinely insightful. I experienced a range of emotions, and I now have a greater appreciation for Kristen's professional journey. I wholeheartedly recommend it, as it is a delightful read.

Love her! The book felt a little slow in parts, partly because the author felt the need to ascribe deep meaning to every life event, even if it was kind of a stretch. However, her journey to Top Chef host did seem somewhat serendipitous at times, and her musings on love and food were delightful.
