Probably my least favorite in this series so far.

I adore the two main characters, their backstories, and the setup of their romance. The whole "reuniting with lost family" element was also really cool.

But the book didn't quite stick the landing for me.
It felt off for them to forgive her brother for the whole dueling thing without any discussion. It's also a shame that Thorne didn't get to go to America and create his own farmstead like he wanted. I get that his plans had to change to accommodate Kate into his life, but it didn't feel like making a career in the military was what he really wanted.

Spindle Cove forever iconic with all the eccentric characters.

The plot of this one was so outrageous and hilarious honestly I just did know what was happening but it was so funny. We love a weak man obsessed with his woman. I really dont have much to say because as with all Tessa Dare books they're just so fun and enjoyable. As always the FMCs are strong and have big balls which I need.

Tropes: Fake Dating, Found Family, Historical Romance,
Triggers: PTSD, Death of Parent, Childhood Trauma
